This article that I read educated me on the causes of climate change. I have learnt that the changes occur mainly because of natural variability and human activities.
Firstly, natural variability is the interactions between the land, ocean and the atmosphere. An example of such an interaction is the crustal plate movement. This movement can cause volcanic eruption and earthquake. These natural disasters can also contribute to climate changes.
Sometimes, the energy we receive from the Sun may vary. When we receive energy more than needed, the Earth’s temperature tends to increase and that increase may cause climate change too.
The other main reason of the cause of climate change is human activities. Human activities such as polluting due to release of harmful gases from the factories and burning earth’s precious resources such as fossil fuels to generate electricity. The over-usage of CFC(chlorofluorocarbon) has caused the depletion of the ozone layer. The ozone layer helps prevent the harmful UV rays from harming our skin which can cause skin cancer.
Thus, we must not contribute to the cause of climate change as it has harmful effects on us.
